From the time I played the monster in Dr. Frankenstein meets Baby Huey, which included special effects (raspberry jelly in a sandwich bag), I have tried to find ways of getting on the stage, getting in front of the camera and behind the microphone; the latter, because after all you don’t need to wear pants.
My staged exploits led me to play keys and sing genres, including pop, musical theater, heavy metal and opera. It gave me the opportunity to perform both as an actor and singer in cities from Boston and NYC all the way to Tokyo, Japan. It was in Japan, that I found an opportunity with several television shows, including “Cho-Very Good”, an around the province program; despite the hours, never felt like work. |
After acting in the Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner, Doctor Akagi, I hit the stage in New York City. I joined a cast of characters in an Off-Broadway play—developing a sketch comedy group, winning a NYC Short Film Festival Award for “Stalk Footage.”
After 9/11, I left New York City, and returned to my hometown. I discovered my hometown had an immutable art and entrepreneurship colony, in a more value conscious environment. Small town living? Yup!
I was blessed to be invited to start singing and acting again through joining a large church, which lead to me joining theater, to an agent, and being the front man for the Latshaw Pops Orchestra for three years. And finally, I focused my acting and vocal chops on voice overs which had been a longtime goal. This focus has also opened the door to a variety of writing, directing, and production opportunities.
I have always had a passion for storytelling and character development.
I believe if you can nail the character... you nail the story.
And that's what I do.
